Dear parents:
February is what we affectionately refer to as, "the longest, shortest month". With a mere 16 instructional days, you'd think it would fly by, yet that month, more than any other, leaves us breathless:
Recipe for an Enriching February:
1/2 cup of Parent-Teacher conferences
2 cups of I Love to Read month activities
1 cup of Catholic Schools Week celebrations
1 Shrove Tuesday pancake lunch
1/4 tsp. of ashes
1 winter camp trip (for grades 7 and 8)
5 Tbsp. Indoor recesses
A sprinkle of laughter, learning, and faith
A handful of Lenten prayer
A gallon of service projects
Generous amount of PD days
1 statutory holiday
In a warm and nurturing environment, layer each of the ingredients, one at a time. Mix in laughter, learning, and faith. Add guests and community members. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, sift ashes thoughtfully. Fold in Lenten prayer and service projects. Sprinkle a generous amount of PD days and a statutory holiday. Simmer for 28 days at Arctic temperatures. Serves 237 students and 25 staff.
Thank you for the privilege of educating your children;
Danielle Kolton
