Mrs. Sara Hogarth
Sara Hogarth is the nursery teacher at St. Ignatius School. She feels very blessed to have the privilege of preparing children for the many years of education ahead. She like to watch the rapid growth of her students throughout the year.
St. Ignatius School offers a full time Nursery Program for four-year-olds. This program runs from 8:50 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Students who will be four years old by December 31 may apply. There is a minimum of a four day requirement (with full or half day options). Casual use of the nursery program is not offered.
Qualified staff encourage the development of the whole child with activities and experiences aimed at providing a strong foundation for the early developmental years.
We offer a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment to develop student’s unique skills and talents, while building sef-esteem, confidence, and social skills necessary to be successful in school and life.
Students have opportunities to play and learn with others, participate in learning activities aimed at developing early literacy and math skills, and experience being a part of our larger school and faith community.
Our program is organized around themes consisting of the following activities:
- table time – teacher directed learning activities
- circle time
- centers- arts and crafts, dramatic play, water and sand table, math center, listening center
- buddies – paired with an older child
- participation in school wide activites such as Mass, assemblies, special lunches, milk program, Jump Rope For Heart
- outdoor play and gym
- snack and lunch (provided from home)
Nursery applications from parishioners of St. Ignatius Parish will be given first preference for available spots, with all others being considered for remaining spaces. The cost of the program is $26.00/day. Before and after school care is available at an additional cost.
