Grade 1
Here We Come!
Eileen Eliasson is the grade one teacher at St. Ignatius School. She considers it to be a privilege to teach this very important grade. She loves to challenge young learners to really think about their big, beautiful world. Turning children's interests into personal learning experiences is a constant goal for Mrs. Eliasson.

The children in grade one know that the library is full of joys, and they have discovered some many new and exciting books there this year. Here are some of their recommendations for what to read in 2012.
I enjoyed reading a book called Family Time Bible Stories in Pictures and I hope you read this book.

I have a book at home, it's called The Princess and the Pea, and it's a very funny chapter book.

I think you will like these books, Lego Ninjago, Zelda, Kung Fu Panda, and Star Wars.

I have a book at home, and it's called 12 Cats for Christmas. I like it because you get to touch things that are soft, and it's easy to read.

I enjoyed reading the book called The Little Mermaid. I like it because it's my favourite book. I read it 100 times. That's why I like it.

There is a book in the library called 50 Below Zero. I like it because it is funny.

I have a book at home that's called The Rainbow Magic Series. I like it because it is adventurous and funny and the goblins are dumb. Jack Frost sends the goblins to go wherever he says.

I think you would like Wemberly Worried because she is almost scared of everything. But, she went to school, and there was a girl scared of everything too, and they both had teddy bears.

I have two books at home and they are good. I like them and they are called Lego Ninjago and Star Wars. I like the Bible because it is good and Zelda because it has adventure, and it's cool.
