Grade Six

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children” – Nelson Mandela

Grade Six Curriculum Overview

Mrs. Mahoney is enthusiastic about teaching grade 6 and enters each day in anticipation for what her students will learn and share!  Mrs. Mahoney emphasizes a positive learning environment by using hands on, interactive lessons that reflect a variety of the Multiple Intelligences. The Grade 6 class also values respect for self, others, and our environment.

“Diversity is neurological. Diversity is societal. Diversity is human. Teaching to diversity requires that teachers create a learning climate in the classroom and devise activities that allow all children to feel safe, respected, and valued for what they have to contribute” – Jennifer Katz

Every student is unique, with their own gifts given by God. It is important that students learn to collaborate in order to build social skills and problem solving.
