Chairperson’s Message

Our Mission

To provide quality spiritual and academic growth based on the principle that every child is created in the image of God.

The St Ignatius Board of Directors is an advisory Board comprised of school parents and/or parish members. The role of the Board is mainly strategic, in developing and implementing school initiatives and visions, providing leadership in dealing with change and in fostering the school goals while always keeping focus on the school’s Mission.

We currently have 10 Board members for this school year; however we could have as many as 20. We usually maintain a working number of 12-14 members. Some of these members are elected, while some are appointed by the Pastor. A term is generally 3 years in length, with an option to renew for a second 3 year term. We meet once a month for 10 months of the year.

We rely on the generosity and expertise of parents and parishioners to fill open positions on the Board as they become vacant. Vacant positions are advertised in late spring, and then we have elections and appointments for the vacancies at our Annual General Meeting in June. If you are open and willing to serve on the Board, I urge you put your name forward when the time comes.

We are incredibly blessed to have great leadership and a wonderful staff working at St. Ignatius.  I have three children currently attending St. Ignatius, and I am so thankful for men and women who work hard every day to create the culture of caring and learning that is evident the moment you enter the halls of our school.

We are also very fortunate to have a great parents’ association (SISPAC); these parent volunteers and their continued efforts add so much to our school’s sense of community.  If your son/daughter attends St. Ignatius then you are a member of SISPAC, and I know you would be welcome at their monthly meetings.  I encourage you to seek out opportunities to get involved with this wonderful organization.

I am looking forward to this upcoming school year, I would ask that you keep our staff and students in your prayers.  If you have any questions or concerns for the Board, please email .

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Hirst
